Downtown municipal parking lot
Staff at the town hall have received comments from residents who are living downtown that they are having difficulty in finding parking during the winter months when on-street parking is restricted overnight.
At the council meeting of Dec. 6, staff were directed to research the feasibility of establishing a downtown municipal parking lot to provide residents of the area a location near their residence to park their vehicles year-round and to return to council with their recommendations.
One councillor Rodney Hoogenhoud asked if it was normal for a municipality to seek parking for private residences.
